The Mobile, AL Office of Emergency Management is scheduled to host the Amtrak Passenger Train Emergency Response (PTER) Training, on Wednesday 8 March 2023, starting at 8:00am, at the Mobile, AL Emergency Operations Center, 7350 Zeigler Blvd. Mobile, AL 36608.
This Passenger Railroad Emergency Preparedness training is associated with the Amtrak 2023 Service Renewal Plan for the Mobile, AL region. Amtrak is preparing to operate passenger train service in the Mobile, AL region once again.
The training will include one session of in-classroom instruction:
Wednesday 8 Mar – Class Session/Instruction from 08:00am – 11:00am

If representatives from your agency are unable to attend this class, two additional classes have been offered on 7 Mar and 9 Mar.
The overarching Goal/Objective of the training is to familiarize Mobile, AL emergency response representatives (Fire, Law Enforcement, EMS, Emergency Managers, Emergency Center Dispatchers, Medical Examiners/Coroners, Red Cross, Hospital Representatives, etc.) with routine and emergency procedures regarding pertinent Amtrak passenger train operations, incident response information, and train equipment. The training will also include identifying precautions and hazards applicable to railroad equipment, train stations, railroad yards, and railroad infrastructure within the region.
