District Attorney's Disaster Response Team
Less than a year after Hurricane Ivan inflicted serious damage to much of South Alabama, Hurricane Katrina cut a wide swath of devastation, shattering lives, obliterating whole communities, and displacing thousands of Mobile County families.
To prevent a second storm of fraud and other rising crime rates that typically follow natural disasters, the District Attorney's Disaster Response Team was formed to quickly alert the public to scams.

Dozens of representatives of Mobile County's business and professional organizations, utility companies, government agencies, building and repair contractors, building supply companies, government and law enforcement agencies and volunteer organizations formed a network to prevent post-hurricane fraud and prosecute scam artists.
We invite any Mobile County agency or organization to join our network and assist us in protecting our citizens. Says District Attorney John Tyson Jr., "We're all in this recovery effort together".
